    Belarussian soybean varieties

    At present six soybean cultivars developed by Soya-North Co. Ltd are registered in Belarus. Cultivar Yaselda is registered and grown in Russia, Great Britain (as Northern Conquest) and Kirgizia.

    Our cultivars:
    - are non-GM;
    - are developed for moderate climate countries;
    - belong to the maturity group 00 (2200 – 2600 CHU (crop heat units);
    - possess yield potential on large scale about 3 t/ha;
    - have protein contents of 38-44% and oil contents of 18-22%.

     

    YASELDA
    Pedigree: Chaika (Ukraine) / Szwedska 4-75
    (Sweden).
    Registered in Belarus since 1998 and used as a check variety in the State trial. Included in the National List of varieties of Great Britain under the commercial name Northern Conquest since 1999. Registered in Kirgizia since 2002, in Russia (Central blacksoil zone) since 2004. Performed better then check for two year trials in Poland.
    Average yield at Kobrin trial station (Belarus) was 2.82 t/ha in 1999 – 2001. Potential yield in large scale crops is about 2.5 t/ha. Requires 2400 CHU (sowing to maturity) that corresponds to 120 days in Belarus. To some extent objected to pod shattering. Quota of pods below 15 cm level (this trait estimates possible harvest losses) does not exceed 4%. Tolerant to bacterial blight.
    Protein rate is 38-39%, oil - 21-22%. Characterized by high percentage of water soluble protein fraction equal to 88.3%.
    Flowers are purple, pubescence is tawny. Growth type semideterminate, plant height 70-80 cm. Hilum black. TSW 140-160 g.

    PRIPYAT
    Pedigree: LF-19 (Poland) // B-0006 (Belarus) / Line 12 (Netherlands).
    Registered in Belarus since 2006 and in Russia since 2008.
    Outyields Yaselda (check) by на 5-10%, in droughty years by 18% while maturing is 1-2 days earlier. Requires 2350 CHU. Lodging and shattering resistant, tolerant to bacterial blight. Quota of pods below 15 cm level does not exceed 8%.
    Protein rate is 43-44%, oil contents 19-20%. Water soluble protein rate is 87,9%. Thus, soybean Pripyat is most suitable for food processing.
    Flowers are purple, pubescence is tawny. Growth type semideterminate, plant height 60-70 cm. Hilum clear. TSW 160-170 g.

    STVIGA
    Pedigree: Belorusskaya 1 / MK-1.
    Registered in Belarus since 2002.
    Outyields Yaselda by 7% while being 4-5 days later. Requires 2500°С. Lodging and shattering resistant, tolerant to bacterial blight. Quota of pods below 15 cm level does not exceed 2%.
    Protein contents is 39-40%, oil - 20-21%.
    Flowers are purple, pubescence is tawny. Growth type semideterminate, plant height 70-90 cm. Hilum brown. TSW 160-180 g.

    BEREZINA
    Pedigree: LF-19 (Poland) / 4346-1-84 (Ukraine).
    Registered in Belarus since 2004.
    Yields 91% of Yaselda while maturing 7-10 days earlier. Requires 2200 СHU. Subjected to pod shattering. Quota of pods below 15 cm level does not exceed 2%.
    Protein contents is 39%, oil - 20%.
    Flowers are white, pubescence is grey, leaflet is lanceolate. Growth type semideterminate, plant height 60-70 cm. Hilum clear with white oculus. TSW 110-130 g.
    Quota of pods below 15 cm level does not exceed 2%.
    Protein contents is 39%, oil - 20%.

    VERAS

    Soybean cultivar Veras was developed by individual selection in F4 from hybrid combination LF-19 (Poland) // B-0006 (Belarus) / Line 12 (Netherlands). Registered in Belarus since 2007. Intensive cultivar: exceeds check Yaselda by 8 - 13 % in the environments with predicted yield ca. 3 t/ha.

    Adapted to climatic zone with CHU about 2200°С, up to 52-53° n.l. Outyielded check variety (Yaselda) by 3,5% during 3 years of competitive trial while maturing 2 days earlier. Tolerant to bacterial blight. Protein rate is 42%, oil content 20%.

    Flowers purple, pubescence tawny. Growth type indeterminate, plant height 70 – 90 cm. Hilum yellow, TSW 130 – 140 g.

     

    ROS
    Pedigree: VIR-600090 (China) / Aldana (Poland). Registered in Belarus and Russia since 2008. Outyields Yaselda by 14% while being 7 days later. Requires 2600°С. Lodging and shattering resistant, tolerant to bacterial blight. Quota of pods below 15 cm level does not exceed 1%. Best performs on light soils.
    Protein contents 40%, oil 20%.
    Flowers purple, pubescence gray. Growth type indeterminate, plant height 90-115 cm. Hilum buff. TSW 180-235 g.
